Aquatic Shift Supervisor

In a newly-established position, we’re looking to recruit a team of Shift Supervisors to be responsible for the management and co-ordination of our Lifeguard team, health and safety and supervision of the pool space within our multi-use sport facility including the Olympic swimming pool, National Aquatic swimming pools, Learn to Swim Pool and common associated spaces.

The Shift Supervisor will lead the Lifeguard team on duty in direct supervision of all water space, water quality monitoring and first class customer service delivery.  You will lead by example on poolside during your shift with your professional, calm and helpful attitude and will trouble-shoot any issues which are referred to you.

The Shift Supervisor will be part of a team who will work together following processes and policies and demonstrating open communication and collaboration to ensure the safe, smooth and efficient operations of the pool space at AUT Millennium.  You will help to promote ongoing training and professional development of the Lifeguard team to keep our users safe.

Working closely with our Aquatic Manager, Programme Manager and Property team you will ensure our pools are actively patrolled at all times leading our Lifeguard team to be motivated, engaged and delivering a high standard of customer services to our clients.

You’ll be a strong advocate for the value of our aquatic programmes and actively seek to enhance and improve on the delivery of our services.

With your knowledge and experience of aquatics and lifeguarding, you’ll be looking after staff rosters, timesheets, expenses, identifying maintenance issues quickly and being involved in event preparation and management for our range of pool events across the year – everything from school swimming sports to international water polo or swimming championships.

Pool Lifeguards – Full Time and Part Time

We are seeking experienced pool lifeguards to work at our world-class aquatic facility.

We currently have two Olympic-sized swimming pools used for swimming training, water polo and water safety, as well as a 25m Learn to Swim pool for children’s swim classes.  The National Aquatic Centre pools are accessible to the public at all times.

As safety is our biggest priority, lifeguards are key to ensuring a safe environment for our customers and are paramount to the successful running of our aquatic facilities.

We currently have the following positions available:

Full Time Lifeguard: The successful candidate will be required to work a minimum of 37.5 hours per week.

Part Time Lifeguard: We have casual shifts available Monday to Sunday over a range of shifts throughout the day, including morning, afternoon, evenings and weekends.

To be successful, you must hold a current comprehensive first aid certificate and Pool Lifeguard Practicing Certificate, however training can be provided for someone who demonstrates the desired commitment to customer service. Other Aquatic qualifications will be an advantage.

Seeking Receptionists

AUT Millennium, a multi-purpose high performance training centre on Auckland’s North Shore, is seeking swim school receptionists.

We currently have an Olympic size swimming pool used for swim training, Water Polo, Water safety as well as Learn to Swim Pool for children’s swim classes.
The reception positions will be based at an extremely busy facility, with swim school families, club members, general public and high performance athletes.
It will be a varied and challenging role.
To join the experienced and fun team at AUT Millennium, all successful candidates will need to have excellent computer and communication skills, a warm bubbly personality, and the ability to keep calm under pressure. Having an interest in swimming will be an advantage.

We currently have the following positions available:

SWIM SCHOOL RECEPTION
– Permanent Part-time: The successful candidate(s) will be required to work
evening and weekend shifts and be available for cover when needed.

NATIONAL AQUATIC CENTRE RECEPTION

-Permanent Full-time: 12:45 pm – 9 pm Mon – Thurs and Fridays 11:45 am – 8 pm

Programme Manager

In a newly-established position, we’re looking for a Programme Manager to oversee our Aquatics Programmes for schools, community groups and the public.

Our Schools and Holiday Programmes are popular activities amongst our local community, delivering quality water safety and boating sessions, along with land-based education outside the classroom. You’ll work closely with our Programme Coordinators to make sure programmes are current, engaging and delivered to the highest standard.

You’ll also work with the Shift Supervisor, who oversees our Lifeguard team, helping to promote ongoing training and professional development to keep our users safe.
