AUT Millennium Gym: Everything you need to know
Signing up and getting started
Getting started at AUT Millennium Gym is simple.
Once you have completed the online process and payment using your credit card, we will be able to set up your membership for you. Please note: If you complete the online sign up process prior to 10pm your membership commences that same day; if you complete the online sign up process later than 10pm, your membership commences the following day (unless it was purchased on the 30 December 2018, in which case it is required to start that day).
You will still need to come into the Gym to go through the full membership terms and conditions, where our Gym team will also help you understand our gym rules, etiquette and code of conduct. Our team will also be able to give you a tour if you haven’t been here before, and activate your membership key tag to give you access for the three months. Please let our team know of any further questions so you can make the most of your time with us.
Our Everyday Champions programme helps you get your Gym journey started. You'll get seven one-on-one sessions with a qualified instructor as part of your membership. We recommend doing these within six weeks for best results. You'll also get monthly ongoing sessions with an instructor if and when you need them - at no extra cost too.
Need more motivation? We have a number of Personal Trainers and other specialists operating their independent businesses at the Gym. If you choose to work with them, you'll need to enter a separate service contract with them and pay them directly.
Making the most of your membership: Gym rules
At AUT Millennium Gym, we do the best we can to have a great gym culture. Our members are like-minded and friendly like you, which is why they follow and respect our rules to make working our enjoyable for all. We’ve established our own Gym etiquette rules and code of conduct which our Gym team can go through with you when you visit us.
When you agree to join the Gym, you also agree to follow our current membership rules. If you break any of the rules, we have the right to terminate your membership. We can also seek compensation for any costs you cause us to incur, including legal costs on a solicitor/client basis.
It still is your responsibility to check out the rules and keep up with any changes. Ask at Reception if you're not sure about any of the rules.
Here are five key rules to remember:
- Do not carry out any illegal activities on Gym premises. If you do anything that we consider to be illegal, offensive, or dangerous to you or another person, we reserve the right to ask you to leave the Gym immediately. We may also cancel your contract without a refund.
- You must comply with our Health and Safety requirements, whether they affect your health and safety or others.
- Every workout session requires a sweat towel as we have a strong 'no towel, no workout' policy and your feet must be protected at all times with shoes that cover your feet - no shoes, no working out.
- Do not take unauthorised photographs on the Gym premises. No photographs or videos in the bathrooms and no photographs of other members without their knowledge or consent.
- No other person has authority to use your membership as we are not a multi-access gym.
AUT Millennium Gym works hard to maintain safe equipment and premises, but it's still your responsibility to make sure you work out safely.
You must declare any relevant medical conditions when you sign up. If you're asked to consult a doctor before exercising or using any of our facilities, you agree to follow the advice or instructions given by the doctor.
If you experience an injury or illness while using our facilities, you consent to receive medical treatment at your own expense and agree that AUT Millennium Gym will not be liable for any claims or expenses related to that treatment or subsequent treatments. Injury compensation in New Zealand is covered by the Accident Compensation Act 2001.
Saying goodbye: Cancellation
You don’t need to do anything other than let us know you don’t want to continue being part of our Gym community. Your membership is only valid for the term specified in the promotion specific terms stated above. If you loved your time with us and don’t want to say goodbye, our team will be happy to assist you with our standard membership options.
Keeping in touch: Email communication and changing terms
AUT Millennium Gym sends monthly regular email updates to members. These include relevant information about the facilities, public holidays, closures and events that could disrupt attendance. You’ll also read about events which could help you win cool prizes by attending more regularly and contributing to our Gym community.
If you choose to opt out of email communications, you risk missing essential updates, and AUT Millennium Gym is not responsible for any information you do not see or are unaware of. Emails are subject to the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007.
Minor members: Signing up when you're underage
If you're under 18 and want to sign up, you'll need to ensure your parent or guardian is present to sign the consent and acknowledge your membership with us. If your parent or guardian has paid for your membership online on your behalf, they will still be required to be present at the Gym for your first visit. If you have any questions regarding members under 18 years, please contact our Gym team before joining online.
