To make your experience the best possible, please read the information below.
What to bring to your first lesson
- Swipe card if you have it, otherwise you can collect this from our friendly customer care team!
- Signed direct debit form and Terms and Conditions (if not handed in already)
- Swimming togs*
- Cap and goggles**
- Towel and warm clothing for after lessons
*Our on-site Speedo retail walls stock swimwear for all ages. Talk to our expert team about finding a pair that fits you perfectly!
**For under 3’s a cap and goggles are not compulsory, but recommended. Cap and goggles are compulsory for all swimmers aged 3 years and up. Babies will need a swim nappy.
Parking
The AUT Millennium carpark offers all users 90 minutes of complimentary parking per day. On arrival please enter your license plate number in the machines provided and select your parking time. You will need to enter your details regardless of parking duration. There is a fee of $2 per hour after the first 90 minutes and complimentary parking is offered once per day. Please also be aware that AUT Millennium is a very popular facility and we recommend allowing an additional 15 minutes to park and check in at either the National Aquatic Centre or AUT Millennium reception.
Machines are located in the car park, at the entrance of the National Aquatic Centre, outside the AUT Millennium building and also upstairs in the Gym.
Please be aware that parking is operated by IntelliCo and not AUT Millennium. If you have any parking related questions please get in touch with IntelliCo directly.

Checking into your lesson
AUT Millennium has two swimming pools and the procedure for checking into your lesson in slightly different for each.
AUT Millennium building – Small Pool and Main Pool
If your swimming lesson is in the AUT Millennium main facility, you will need to check in at the main reception. You will be issued a personalised swipe card that you will need to bring to all lessons. Our customer care team can show you where and how to swipe this card.
AUT Millennium has a number of different user groups swimming at any one time and you will be given a coloured plastic card that your child must give to their teacher. This card shows our team that you are a part of our Swim School family and that all payments are up to date.
Small Pool swimmers
The changing rooms and entry to the pool is located at the southern end of the building. If you are unsure of where to go please ask and a staff member will be happy to show you the way.
Main Pool Swimmers
Entry to the AUT Millennium Main Pool is also located at the southern end of the building, however lessons are taught at the northern end of the 50 metre pool. Please talk to the Swim School supervisor who will be there to help you and your child find the correct teacher and lane.
National Aquatic Centre – 25 metre learner’s pool and 50 metre Pool
When you arrive at the National Aquatic Centre, please check in at reception. A personalised swipe card will be issued to you and the customer care team will show you were to swipe this card to access the pools.
The National Aquatic Centre Learner’s pool is located to the left hand side as you walk into the pool area. Our friendly swim school supervisor will be happy to show you where your child will be swimming.
