“Our team of three weightlifters and two coaches stayed at AUT Millennium’s on-site accommodation for a performance camp leading up to the 2018 Commonwealth Games. We believed it would be the best preparation for that group of athletes, and it was the preferred training environment to give them the best chance to perform.

“We were training so close to our accommodation, which was excellent, and we were able to self-cater and fuel appropriately, within easy walking distance to the performance environment and recovery suites. We made use of the medical and soft tissue sports massage therapy on-site, and were able to train alongside some New Zealand international athletes and see other training methods and philosophies.”

“Staying in a high performance facility, the girls have been able to spend time with some of our elite Kiwi athletes, and emulate what goes on. Everyone has been a real pleasure to work with, very welcoming and happy to help with whatever we need. We’ve felt so welcome here.”

We initially chose AUT Millennium because of its convenient location to the Badminton Sports Centre for our games during the New Zealand Secondary Schools Tournament week. All 17 of us (15 players and two staff members) found the facilities available top notch and the on-site manager, Jason, was very accommodating. The option to self-cater and have meals together as a team was one of the highlights during our stay. The flexibility to group the players into the double unit suites also made managing the team easier. The players made use of the hot & cold spas and pools, which was a good way to end the day after their games. Everything from the wifi, to the games rooms and kitchenettes available were well maintained. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and we’ve never felt so welcomed.

Kenneth LohBadminton Team Manager, Ormiston Senior College

“Our basketball team had a great experience staying at the AUT Millennium Accommodation. All needs were met, from facilities to cleanliness and so much more. We were well looked after by Jason and his team. The team felt comfortable preparing for our tournament in a professional, high performance environment. With ample space to stretch, warm up, prepare meals, set game plans and relax post-game, we were taken care of. Hot/colds and special dietary catering provide a professional sporting accommodation, and the team enjoyed teambuilding in the games room on days off. We highly recommend staying at AUT Millennium Accommodation.”
