Swim Teacher’s Wanted

AUT Millennium is a charitable trust established to help New Zealanders live longer and healthier lives. From learner swimmers to gym goers to professional athletes, we’re a hub for health and wellness in our local community and beyond.
We have an opportunity for a qualified Swim Instructor to join our team. AUT Millennium Swim School is one of the largest and most dynamic in Auckland, with over 2500 children swimming with us on a weekly basis.

We are looking for people-focused instructors. You have a friendly, approachable manner and enjoy building and maintaining positive relationships. No experience is necessary, we will provide full training to someone who demonstrates the motivation and commitment we’re looking for.

Our successful applicant will have the following:

  • Keen to learn and have a passion for teaching children of all ages and abilities in and out of the water
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Can follow structured lessons and motivate each child to create an effective learning environment

We have a range of shifts available between the times 8.30am – 12.30pm and/or 3.30pm – 6.45pm Monday – Friday and 8.30am – 12.30pm or 12.30pm – 4pm on weekends. Your first weeks will be spent training, so that you’re familiar with and confident in delivering the superior service our families have become accustomed to.

Lifeguard - Part-Time

AUT Millennium is a charitable trust established to help New Zealanders live longer and healthier lives. From learner swimmers to gym goers to professional athletes, we’re a hub for health and wellness in our local community and beyond.

We’re seeking qualified lifeguards to join our lifeguard team to supervise the pool space within our multi-use sport facility including the AUT Millennium swimming pools, National Aquatic Centre swimming pools and common associated spaces.

Safety is our biggest priority and these roles are key to ensuring a safe environment for our customers and are paramount to the successful running of our aquatic facilities.

To join the experienced and fun team at AUT Millennium, the successful candidate will need to have experience communicating with the general public, a commitment to provide excellent customer service and be a team player.

In order to work as a Lifeguard at AUT Millennium, it is a requirement that you hold a current Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate and Comprehensive First Aid Certificate (or equivalent).

Grounds Person

We’re looking for a full-time Grounds Person to join our Property team from Monday 8 January 2024.

To thrive in this role, you’ll need to be highly motivated, have great initiative and a desire to work in a high performance environment. Experience in property maintenance/greenkeeping and full drivers licence required.

AUT Millennium is a important part of the local communities sport and recreation facility network – with an outdoor athletics stadium and field (used for athletics and soccer/training), outdoor throws fields, onsite accommodation, swimming pools, conferencing and home to HPSNZ, AUT, medical practices and other sporting organisations.

This is an important role in our team, keeping our public and high performances spaces operating and presented at the highest standard, as well ensuring everyone from children learning to swim through to professional athletes are kept safe while on site ensuring AUT Millennium meets all health and safety and legislative requirements.

Our property team play a vital role in the health and safety of our visitors, planning and maintenance of the large facility, set up for our events and operations, and providing exceptional customer service to our members and customers.

With your knowledge and experience of groundskeeping and maintenance, you will work with the wider Property team with your professional, calm and helpful attitude and will be able to trouble-shoot any issues which are referred to you and will actively seek to enhance and improve the upkeep our our community facility.

To be successful in this position, it is essential that you have the following:

  • A dedication to exceptional customer experience
  • Experience in property maintenance/greenkeeping
  • General fitness to be able to be physically active throughout the day
  • Full drivers license
  • Sound working knowledge of health and safety procedures.

Full Time: 40 hours per week – Monday to Friday with some flexibility required to cover events and other bookings.
